The 60-m2 apartment is located on the second floor of the new building in the industrial area of St. Petersburg. Client is a single man, living alone. Spacious, light but brutal and minimalistic – was the idea of the interior expressed by the client.

Originally, it was a two-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and two bathrooms. In order to create spacious area we decided to consolidate the kitchen with one of the rooms. Luckily, there were few load-bearing rooms, so we could make the space much more functional. In the guest bathroom we placed a shower and a toilet and in the master bathroom we placed a bath.

We made one big wardrobe with the smooth front disguised as a wall because the client did not request much space for storage. We created a spacious fully equipped kitchen with many various seats as the client and his friends like to get together, chat and cook. Visually the apartment on the second floor did not get much of the daylight, that is why almost all of the finishing materials are of the light color. In order to avoid the monochromatic interior we introduced several bright elements using the favorite color of the client – blue.

In the bedroom we designed a small table by the window for reading and work. The stylish headboard made from veneer panels visually marked the bed. We used glass bricks for one of

the walls of the master bathroom to make the space look even more lightsome. We also replaced the two standard doors with one folding door made from frosted tempered glass. Below you can find the link for the project review: www.kidz-design.com/apa...
