On Canada’s ancient Emerald Edge sits the crown jewel of the rainforest. Wild yet refined, Fawn Bluff embodies the priceless, idyllic wilderness home away from home few have imagined, and fewer still could own. Delivering unchallenged privacy, inconceivable luxury and access to astounding nature experiences and world-renowned fishing on the Emerald Edge of the Great Bear Rainforest, Fawn Bluff is the Quintessential Canadian Retreat of 340 acres and located just 14 minutes by seaplane from Campbell River, an International Port of Entry. Complete with ocean frontage and private lake, Fawn Bluff comes fully outfitted for fun and ready to create memories for years to come. With the only deep water, sheltered harbor on Bute Inlet, Fawn Bluff is a self-sufficient, legacy opportunity carved from the pristine wilderness. The estate sleeps up to 30 guests in 4 buildings with accommodation for 8 support staff. On a 3-mile road system, Fawn Bluff features an expandable dock, helipad and barge access for fuel, supplies, and equipment.

The Founders Lodge represents the culmination of an ambitious dream to imagine, design and create the consummate resort-style retreat hidden away in the remote sport fishing capital of Canada. Over 7,000 square feet of integrated indoor (4,000) and outdoor (3,000) space connect seamlessly with its natural setting at elevation as if born of it — carved intuitively from living stone and vast timbers. The unadorned solid stone reception wall, flagstone walkways, covered wrap-around decks, and outdoor recreation areas comprise the bedrock of a self-contained, state-of-the-art, post and beam architectural feat that both delights and defines remote and refined coastal living. Rustic elegance, custom forged iron hardware and fixtures, organic surfaces, natural finishes, angling-themed accents, vintage reclamations, and historic references are married with ingenious mechanics, custom-crafted contemporary comfort, and inconspicuous modern conveniences. The Founders Lodge features three bedrooms, three baths, two half baths, a hot tub and multiple indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

The Lake Cottage is designed and built in a smaller scale imitation of the Founder’s Lodge, offering its own charming, self-contained fly fishing paradise. Post and beam construction in log cabin style, with exposed timbers, reclaimed vintage barn wood, custom fixtures, luxurious appointments, and breathtaking views south, promise idyllic escape and inspiration to decompress beyond and without reservation. Inside; a light-filled loft, vaulted ceilings, wood-burning cast iron stove, beach rock shower floor, distressed cabinetry, tumbled stone tiles and moss green granite, all evoke natural, organic calm and Hemingwayesque tranquility for a family or friends. Outside, stacked stone foundations and whole timber construction rise from lush carpets of sword and deer ferns, and veils of western red cedar. The Lake Cottage features one bedroom, one bathroom, a laundry room, a hot tub, a wood stove, a loft, and a floating dock.

The Guest House performs double-duty as a gathering and event space, and a luxurious bunkhouse-style stand-alone wilderness camp for large families or small corporate groups. The design and execution of the rustic board and batten structure, while reminiscent of outback lodges designed for adventure and big game enthusiasts, was purpose-built for hosting encounters celebrating big fish. Common areas dedicated to dining, lounging, gearing-up and processing are connected to central hallways leading to six private bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms. Covered outdoor decks running seamlessly east to west, encourage fellowship and scenic outdoor lounging. A two vehicle garage doubles as a large utility room with generous freezer and cooler space, event storage and banquet preparation space. The entrance to the guest house connects to the garage and makes for a perfect mudroom for anglers.

The Hollywood Trailer is a pristine, 1990’s pedigree set trailer which was the property’s much-loved original structure – relocated in retirement from its California studio lot to Fawn Bluff. Used by the owner as temporary accommodation during site planning for the Founder’s Lodge. Now ensconced south of the lodge, on the edge of the plateau near to the Guest House, the Hollywood Trailer is a coveted, private pied-à-terre in the wilderness. Built into an expansive wood shelter with wrap-around decks, sunken hot tub, high-tech utilities and retrofitted inside with handcrafted cabinets, the trailer remains true to its roots while offering modern convenience, comfort, and connectivity. The trailer has one bedroom and one bathroom, with entertaining room for four.
