Glam Living Room

Golden draperies and crystal chandeliers, soaring ceilings and plush tailored seating, living glamorous was the inspiration for this grand room designed by author, designer and style influencer, Shayla Copas. In this Little Rock, Arkansas home, the living room was totally overhauled from its original 1990’s style into a palatial yet welcoming abode.

“The plan for the space was to add elegance, but in a light and airy style,” said Copas. “The wall of tall windows allowed for the gardens beyond to be a seasonally-changing focal point with which we did not want the interior decor to compete.”

Fabrics, wall coverings, and furnishing designers tapped by the designer for this project included Maya Romanoff, John Richard, Henredon, Bliss Studios, Kravet, Robert Allen. Beacon Hill and RM Coco.

Symmetry shines in the glamorous living room with the fire place flanked by gilded mirrors, French style accent tables and lounge chairs. Seating options extended from an open chaise full of bolsters and accent pillows for lounging in front of the hearth to crisp tailored chairs and stools.

The soaring 20-foot ceilings and golden window treatments provide textural and spacial drama to the room décor. A large crystal chandelier was reconditioned from a glass model to add a crowning touch at the center of the party-ready living room. Every detail was in keeping with Copas’ glamorous design style down to elements on the glass and gold finish coffee table complemented by golden welted decorative cushions. Whimsical touches were added with porcelain barrel stools surrounding the French inspired tables and chairs all welcoming guests into this opulent home.
