Truly fabulous, single-family home in the heart of Amsterdam! Originally constructed in 1890, this stunningly renovated home overlooks the last bridge on the iconic “Seven Bridges of Reguliersgracht” canal and offers the perfect balance between local flavor excitement and quiet privacy in your own city Oasis! Upon walking in the front door, you are blown away by the level of care and detail that went into the total home renovation, which was completed in 2020. Under the direction of Standard Studio, a very prestigious Architecture Firm in Amsterdarm, no detail was left untouched. From the pristine marble used in the flooring and kitchen island, to the impressive Cinema in the finished basement, which includes a top-of-the-line projector system and wet bar, this one-of-a-kind home is a true work of art. The extensive renovations genuinely highlight the charm of the original structure, which is a historic landmark in the neighborhood, while sparing no expense on upgrading every aspect of the home to modern standards. Originally, the structure was home to the staff of the Reguliersschool and later, housed Het Parool, which was originally a war resistance newspaper and is today’s local newspaper. The finishes are luxurious and high-end, and made of the best quality materials. Standard Studio described this project in depth as it was a total undertaking:
"It was quite an intense renovation. We really stripped a part of the building to the core and shell and built it up from scratch. Some of the old wooden poles of the foundation were in bad condition, which meant that we had to redo the whole foundation. That brought us the opportunity to create a bigger basement that was actually usable. We turned it into a home cinema combined with a guesthouse or a place for a nanny to live.

The client was always very clear: only the highest level of quality for the renovation had to take place. The project took nearly 1,5 years to complete but the result is stunning... It is a unique house and the atmosphere is very relaxed and calming. The garden is designed to be an extension of the house, provided with nice seating and relaxing areas. We opened up the dropped ceilings in the top floor, the enormous wooden beams were all hidden behind a ceiling. After taking that out the rooms felt twice as big and added some serious coolness to the spaces.

When we first entered the building it was as if time had stood still from the 90-ies. The building has had a lot of different inhabitants, including some squatters in the late 90-ies who also used it as an illegal nightclub. We knew for sure that this house is special, there was something in the air... I can't describe it but the house felt really good, even though it was completely trashed. Maybe it was because the house always had inhabitants that were writing history by doing stuff that nobody else dared to do."

This architectural dream home is perfectly appointed for any Buyers looking to live the Amsterdam lifestyle in luxury and ease.
