The owners of Pali Society - Kirsten Leigh Pratt and Avi Brosh - are known for their exquisite hotels around the country that make guests feel like they are right at home from the moment of arrival. What elicits that feeling is the unique design they create for each property that seamlessly compliments its location while standing out from the crowd. The ambience is both warm, homey and inviting, while at the same time being very trendy and chic. To achieve the desired aesthetic, the couple blend vintage and modern elements in a dynamic way that has guests coming back time after time. The duo recently listed their Hollywood Hills home for sale and have included Pali design trends throughout the abode including two-tone walls, bespoke drapery, and vintage lighting pieces. We explore these elements below.
Two-Tone Walls
When the couple moved into the Hollywood home, they wanted to incorporate a two-tone wall element into the overall design. In doing so, they kept the original color (a rich off-white) and added Farrow & Ball’s Calke Green to the lower portion of some of the walls. This unique style is found at both the Palihouse Miami Beach and Palihotel Seattle and will soon appear in new hotels that will open next year. While they did not employ this design through the entire house, they kept the color palette consistent throughout, with green tones used for entire rooms, doors, and select furnishings throughout.
Bespoke Drapery
Maintaining the calming green element for their drapery, the couple were again inspired by The Palihouse Santa Monica. They accented the downstairs living and entertaining areas with moss-green velvet drapery and incorporated a vibrant Ikat Pointe fabric for the upstairs living and bedroom spaces.
Vintage Light Fixtures
Throughout the hotel collection, the couple incorporate inspiring vintage light fixtures that punctuate the style and sophistication of the eclectic design. Similarly at their Hollywood Hills home, they kept a number of original light fixtures that had been with the home since it was built in the 1920’s, and collected various pieces to incorporate throughout. One of the most eye-catching pieces is from the 1930s and resides about the kitchen island.
