As architects, we are constantly inspired by the beauty of nature and the potential it holds for hosting breathtaking, functional, and sustainable spaces, vessels of life. That's why we were thrilled to have the opportunity to design a new contemporary single-family residence on the edges of the Hudson River in upstate New York.
The goal for this project was to create a home that harmoniously integrates with its surroundings, taking full advantage of the fairytale environment in which it blends. To achieve this, we utilized floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive outdoor living spaces, and an open-concept interior design. These features allow residents to truly immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the site, in the forests of the Hudson Valley.

At the heart of the home is the living area, where form and function converge to create a truly memorable space. The focal point of this area is the living room, complete with a stunning fireplace and large windows that allow for an abundance of natural light to fill the space. Adjacent to the living room is the dining area and kitchen, which are both designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, and a built-in sink and seating area in the kitchen island all come together to create a kitchen that is not only beautiful but also practical. The residence also includes three spacious bedrooms, each with its own private bath and ample closet space. The master suite is a true oasis, with a large bedroom, spa-like bath, and private outdoor space. Throughout the home, we have incorporated a blend of natural materials like wood and stone to create a warm and inviting atmosphere with all the comforts of modern living. Context, form and function meet to create a harmonious and sustainable living whole, one that will continue to inspire and delight its residents for years to come.
