Perched high upon a coral rock ridge in Coconut Grove this private mid-century masterpiece is truly architecturally significant. Masterfully designed by Mimo architect, Peter Jefferson, during Coconut Grove’s initial modern architectural revolution in 1960. The “Glass House” has been noted as the best of the best works in the Florida Modern era and referenced in numerous interior design magazines and publications.
Nandez Design studio was commissioned to renovate and restore this beautiful house, modernizing interiors with current materials while maintaining its original essence, and Jefferson’s vision.
Walls of glass, massive tubular concrete columns, and exposed wood beams encompass this one-story Zen like compound. Peaceful tropical gardens surround the oversized property, coral rock grotto courtyard sits right in the middle of the structure surrounded by large windows helping bring light to all the spaces in the house and at the same time creating amazing greenery views from every corner.
An amazing Scavolini Kitchen with Miele appliances and quartz countertops oversee the courtyard “jungle” adding to that feeling of being dragged by nature.
