This beach house is on the footprint of a shack that was formerly used by the Chicago gangster Al Capone as a safe house. the structure was grandfathered in on the beach site and was able to be transformed into this modern oasis for the family whose main house is above this site on the bluff. It proved to be a great getaway from the family members during Covid allowing them to get some distance from each other when necessary. It features a linear kitchen, bathroom on septic and sleeping floor. The roof deck and provides panoramic views of the lake. The bridge gives easy access into the house and deck from the bluff above. The cladding is Prodema, a synthetic material, so it will not decompose in the elements. The interior feather cement tiles and engineered wood on floors, walls and ceilings.
