Mid-Century Modern - The Amato House

A true mid-century modern, the Amato House in New Canaan, CT was designed by the architect James Evans, a protege of Louis Kahn. Carefully updated by the current owners, the many interior improvements have restored the modern aesthetic. Located on a beautiful site, the house features dramatic living spaces, multiple decks, and three fireplaces. In addition to three bedrooms and three baths, the house has a large studio. Outside, the property has several entertaining spaces including a fieldstone patio and an area designed as a sculpture garden. Documented in the New Canaan Mid-Century Modern Houses survey conducted by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
