When I got the call to design the interior of a home my client purchased to flip, it was the height of quarantine; most of our projects were put on hold and people were out of work. It fell into our laps at a perfect time, but not without it's hurdles. Restoring a home during the middle of a pandemic proved to be a bit more of a challenge than in the past, but we were up for the task. I learned quick to not only have a plan b in my pocket, but a plan c too...and sometimes even a plan d. As we navigated our way through sourcing materials with longer lead times and most often, out of stock, our creativity was put to the test. We always intended to save and restore wherever we could - still updating the home to modern day living. Thus, this thoughtful renovation of a 1961 Mid-Century Modern home in the southwest suburb of Harvey Park in Denver, Colorado was born. We left all of the original light fixtures throughout, refinished mahogany interior doors/built-ins and working elevator. This home has 2 wood burning fireplaces, a spacious outdoor terrace with original mosaic tile flooring and a suspended hood vent/fire pit to boot.
