Husband and wife design duo, Steve and Nikki, have a knack for renovating and designing cottages near the coast. As the masterminds behind popular Instagram page Cottage + Sea, the two have a strong understanding of maintaining a historic home’s authentic and vintage character while incorporating modern functionalities. Together, Steve and Nikki have been creating beautiful and unique spaces for others to enjoy through luxury short-term rentals like Airbnb and photoshoot rentals. Their most recent project, the 1950s Mint + Sea Cottages in Encinitas, California, is one such space that they have created with a lot of care and attention to detail.
In honoring the era and original design of the home, they incorporated tile countertops throughout the kitchens in mint green and light blue. Their vision to add vintage style appliances truly brought the 1950s character completely to life in their retro kitchen.
