This Burlington home is a modification to a backsplit home built in 1963, designed with a modern style that naturally flows into the existing structure. Extending the footprint of the modern home build by adding a garage allowed us to turn the former garage space into a kitchen & living room space that stretches the view from the front of the home connecting all living spaces. The existing roof was replaced with a flat line detail to simplify the existing structures profile.
The front of the home was extended outward while new floor to ceiling windows implemented to seamlessly incorporate the front room with the outside patio. The same effect was accomplished at the rear of the home with large patio windows that allow the kitchen and living room to pour out into the large concrete patio giving the kitchen a clean edged interior to unite the outdoor space.
Completing the design with improved use of the existing upstairs with modern stairs, redesigned washrooms, an office space and extended foyer breathe new life into this modern home.
