Rewind to 1959, the year that Barbie was created, Gigi won for best picture at the Oscars, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Guggenheim Museum in New York City was completed, the aluminum beer can was introduced by Coors of Golden, Colorado, and 2690 Carisbrook Drive, a mid-century modern home, was built in the Piedmont Pines neighborhood of Oakland, California.

According to Gail Lombardi, Researcher of Oakland Cultural Heritage Survey, "This house was built by Kenneth L. McKay who lived on Pinehaven. The earliest owners I found for this house were Harold and Vera Poindexter in 1965. Harold owned Dexter’s Paper Box Company which dates back to 1945.

Enter this level-in modernist home present day and you will find many thoughtful designer touches, all carefully selected to compliment the original construction and middle-century era.
