Modernist sanctuary in the heart of the South End. Reimagined from its original life as the gymnasium of storied BC High School, an expansive three bedroom, 3.5 bath New York style space takes on new life as a stylish, tranquil retreat.
Floor to ceiling original windows frame a view of the historic South End Burial Ground with the twinkling lights of the iconic John Hancock Building as backdrop. Inside a dramatic palette of architectural elements in raw steel, Shou-Sugi- Ban wood, and expansive glass create a sophisticated, calming space. A light- filled, custom kitchen by Venegas Design— is the perfect setting for cooking and conversation.
Upstairs, three unique bedrooms enclosed in glass offer elegant and flexible options for family, guests, study/office and dreamy seclusion.
High end finishes, including hand painted wall paper by Brooklyn artist Katie Merz and hand-blown glass pendants by John Pomp Studios elevate this one-of-a-kind space.
The Penmark is a truly unique building in the South End; it was originally built in 1888 and was used as the old Boston College High School, and it was converted into condos in 2005. Building amenities include garage parking, concierge, & fitness center.
