We are located in the historic My Florist Plaza of the Willo District in Phoenix, AZ. Designing our space we wanted to create a place where anyone can enjoy. We chose a very minimal approach to make our customers and products shine.
To start, we removed the original tint from the previous florist's large windows to allow the beautiful natural light in. To compliment this, we painted the walls white to accentuate the large walls and high ceiling. Painting the ceiling black allowed the space to feel larger and more open. To furnish our shop we chose a low seating modern/mid-century style to also make the place feel open and free. We used a mixture of natural woods and metals like I-Beams to signify the growth and construction of downtown Phoenix. Our flooring was laid out in a herringbone pattern to continue the original brick herringbone laid outside of or store.
We wanted to add these small details to pay tribute to its history and to continue the roots it started with. Although our business is a tea and gelato shop, we wanted to showcase our architectural style from our lifestyle growing up in Southern California to now Phoenix, Arizona.
