Nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, VA, the Preston Lofts vision was to create two affordable “net-zero” green townhomes for the owners and discriminating short-term tenants or guests. The durable barn-like modern design incorporates a flexible, spacious floor plan with 5 bedrooms and 3 ½ baths in each unit. The intent called for high ceilings, delightful sun-infused spaces with cutting edge, environmentally responsive form, materials, technologies, and construction. The roof solar panels will provide 100% of the power used by both units.
Each unit has three stories and 2,500 SF with south facing exposure, an open lower-level floor plan, 10-FT high ceilings, privacy and generous decks all tucked into a 0.11-acre urban R-2 flag lot.
