RAPA Architects call for more green in Budapest's urban jungle.

The unique combination of nature and city is beautifully captured in this architectural project, where the plot seamlessly blends the metropolitan view with a lush forest. The steeply sloping site overlooks the forest-covered hillside while offering glimpses of Budapest's city lights and landmarks in the distance. The design aims to harmonize with the environment by using dark-colored glass surfaces and creating a contrast with golden-bronze accents.

The house is integrated into the natural setting, reflecting the surrounding environment and emphasizing its connection with nature. Custom-made metal panels are utilized to enhance the abstract and nuanced reflection. These panels, specifically tailored for this project, add a unique touch to the façade, showcasing subtle variations in light reflection that set it apart from other buildings.

The villa features an entrance level with a spacious horizontal garden area, embraced by an L-shaped mass. Adjacent to the children's rooms, a terrace provides protected views of the picturesque landscape and the nearby ancient forest. The upper level accommodates communal spaces for the family, including the parents' bedroom, accompanying bathrooms, and wardrobes.

The parents' bedroom is strategically positioned at the end of the elevated mass, allowing for unobstructed views of the forest through a level and expansive glass façade. This design approach creates a tranquil ambiance that complements the room's purpose.

The living room, which opens towards the city, is the central communal space of the villa. Its bright and airy atmosphere is defined by floor-to-ceiling glass walls, allowing seamless integration with the surrounding balcony. This glass façade, operated by motorized sliding wings, accentuates the connection between indoor and outdoor areas.

The architectural composition maximizes natural light by incorporating large windows that provide glimpses of the forest, while maintaining privacy from outside. This filtered light creates an abstract transition between the interior and exterior spaces, mimicking the sun's rays filtering through the trees.

The villa also includes a garage located beneath the building. Upon entering the basement-level foyer from the garage, a five-meter glass ceiling provides a view of the sky, allowing natural light to illuminate the space and guide access to the upper level.
