From Jocelyn Liipfert Lam

Designed by Jocelyn Liipfert Lam, Project Shui Hau was created for an American-Australian couple who bought their first family home in Shui Hau Village on South Lantau island, Hong Kong during the pandemic. The 2100-square foot village house underwent a partial renovation and full redecoration in Summer 2023 following a design process led by Liipfert Lam. The design was driven by the couple’s love for rugged global travel, transformed into an elevated yet laidback space. A minimalist single-line artwork by Burmese artist Aung Myint, the father of modern art in Myanmar, served as key inspiration for the design concept of the project. Through artwork, furniture details, the custom staircase, reeded wood panelling and tiling work, Liipfert Lam brought the line concept to life throughout the seaside village house.
