A starter home in Mount Washington becomes a forever home.
1964 brick Cape Cod style residence in Baltimore’s Mount Washington neighborhood, completely transformed by guerilla construction, while adhering to Commission for Historical Architecture and Preservation CHAP guidelines. Overall square footage of the home was doubled, emphasizing views of the backyard. Carefully selected PPG “licorice” paint and cumaru wood accents provide a contemporary look that’s sure to inspire future renovations. Black frame Anderson windows fill the interior space with natural light. Red oak hardwood floors were added to the main level. A new interior staircase with a wood slat screen added a sculptural element to the front hall. Kitchen cabinets in rift red oak were custom made by guerilla’s millshop. All new plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems were installed. The bathrooms were remodeled with terrazzo and ceramic tile, complemented by Phylrich brass fixtures. This project is a design + build renovation by guerilla.
