From Cody Carpenter
This home was owner designed and remodeled by Cody Carpenter designer and fabricator or architectural elemnents. When the home was purchased in 2007 it was 2 seperate structures. The front structure built as a studio in 1995 with some design influences by a well known local architect. The back structure was the original home built in the late 40's. Both were in very run down condition and were stripped clean to the bare bones. Much of the homes floor plan and window positioning was re configured and interior and exterior finishes were changed up a bit. It was an 11 year process of chipping away through some tough economical years on days off when money and time allowed . THe house has great positionaing for the hot Arizona climate with small entry structures shielding many of the window walls from direct sun. THe house also maximizes desert and mountain views while buffering neighboring homes. Utilizing low water landscape and contrasting materials. Much of the homes storage is built in and requires very little furniture for minimalist living.
