The Mosfilm

Hello, Im an architect from Moscow. This is the new project just finished in spring 2024. The flat is located in the old central district of Moscow called "Mosfilm" known for the main filmmaking factory from the USSR times. The building was build in 1956 and made of the red brick. The flat originally belonged to a 90 woman with 22 cats ) consisted of 4 separate areas - a corridor, tiny kitchen, bathroom and a living room. The new owner and my client is a 45 year old single man from the art/museum industry and paper books lover.
The main goal was to create ergonomic space for comfortable permanent living of 1-2 people with the possibility of accommodation up to 2 guests. Thus, I decided to separate the entry hall from the rest of the flat with 2-sided floor-to-ceiling wardrobe. The bathroom was a little bit enlarged to fit a good side bathtub. The kitchen corner has a full set of necessary kitchen appliance: standard size fridge, washing machine, stove, hob, cabinet hood. The living room is separated from the normal size bedroom with the sliding glass doors and a sound proof black-out.The flat turned out very bright, sunny and surprisingly spacious!
The retro looking interior was inspired my the general mood of the neighbourhood and some technical permission for the construction (ban for hidden wiring) and the clients’ personal preferences for the style.
