A contemporary home
Just a stone’s throw from the Pacific
On one of the most beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, the Italian interior designer Consolata Coppa @domusoperandi has created a holiday home for a young family.
"Simplicity is the new Luxury", this was the approach to the interior design project for this villa in pure Spanish style that required an important upgrade to transform it into a contemporary house in Mediterranean style.
The careful study of natural light and windows makes the surrounding environment part of the home interior, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside,
This continuity is enhanced by a neutral palette of colours and materials.
Throughout the house there is a feeling of serenity and calm generated by the shades of white, wood Rosa Morada and gray microcement that Consolata has introduced in a perfect chromatic that’s typical of his style.
No demolition, only some constructions such as the concrete sofa-seat in the living room, the wardrobes in the bedrooms and in the closet of the main bedroom.
The rooms, all with private bathroom, have been designed to be functional, intimate and cozy thanks to the presence of wood and the touch of accessories made in Mexico.
The room communicating with the master bedroom has been transformed into the studio of the hostess, well-known painter. The protagonist of the studio is a Japandi Sofa designed by Consolata where you can lie down to take inspiration while admiring the landscape of Baja.
Outside the pool and bar area under a “palapa”, word of Maya origin that indicates a "dwelling" without walls, with thatched roof obtained by drying palm leaves that brings the vegetation to the house and replaces it in its natural environment, Just a short walk from the beach, where you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves of the Pacific.
