New custom walnut cabinetry syncs with the rest of the built-ins throughout the home, to create a pleasing rhythm in the open plan. The backsplash is Heath Ceramics tile, and the counter is Pental Quartz. Open shelves at the rear overlook a cozy den, and allow sightlines out the new windows at the front of the home.

The flooring throughout it a light-toned wide-plank oak, and all walls were finished in Roman clay plaster by Portola Paints, for a subtle texture. The Drifted stools from Hem have cork seats, while the sculptural coffee machine from Anza is made of Corian. The wall sconces are from RBW, and all faucets by Kohler.

In the dining room, a painting by Moroccan artist Lrnce. In the living room, a Timothy Oulton Nest Sectional joins a side table and coffee table by Klein Agency, the latter fashioned from a leftover travertine remnant from a slab used for a bathroom. “I call it my baby elephant coffee table, because it's got this really cute little oblong top with these little baby elephant trunk-like legs,” says Amber. The lamp is by Studio Dunn.
