High ceilings and the snaking light structure provided a great opportunity to use the vertical space of the studio for hanging lights, terrariums and plants

A snaking copper light fixture winds through the apartment and partitions the space; the three hanging Edison bulbs illuminate the stowable table, and the globe in the corner lights the reading nook
The bedroom nook’s long curtains and shaded gray wall soften incoming morning light from the apartment’s many windows
Dark woods and metallic tiles frame the open shower and bathroom

Home for Reka
Reka is a colorful, plant-loving expat who had to balance her own personal style within her apartment space’s antique framework and inherited furniture. We reshuffled the cramped family apartment into a spacious, industrial-style studio and filled the sunlit space with lots of foliage and family heirlooms. Masculine dark woods and copper piping were tempered by pink-tinged walls and Reka’s own eclectic collection of travel souvenirs.
