The Lalo Outdoor Cinema is a new area on the showfloor at this year's Dwell on Design, centrally located next to the Airbnb Home and the Loll Beer Garden. +Farm is based in upstate New York, where land can be cheap but new housing prohibitively expensive: when a resident breaks ground on a waterfront site, their taxes can dramatically increase. What if new housing didn't need to technically break ground? The Philadelphia native moved to San Francisco after college and became one of the first urban art-inspired clothing designers in the Bay Area when he co-founded Revolution Clothing in the 1990s. After his move to L.A., he ventured into entertainment, contributing to commercials and music videos. "Horus" (pictured here) seems to encompass both of these worlds.

Dwell Outdoor Takes Center Stage at Dwell on Design This year, for the first time, the ever-popular Dwell Outdoor will live right in the middle of the show floor, immediately viewable at the entrance. Beneath a stylized “rope-art” canopy created by Sausalito-based Shades of Green and outfitted with their myriad trees and plants, the new Dwell Outdoor, sponsored by Blu Homes andLumos Solar, promises to inspire. Populating the 18,000-square-foot-plus space will be full-scale structures from prefab companies like Sett Studio, who is “obsessed with energy efficiency, sustainable building materials, and designing thoughtful space.”
