This sophisticated credenza is a streamlined storage system that is available in a variety of configurations. It can be used as a buffet or sideboard in a dining room, media console, or cabinet in a bedroom. Other credenzas include the 4 Drawer and 4 Door. In the open-plan living area, a wall covered in Calico’s Lunaris Midnight—inspired by moonscapes and outer space—sets the tone for a vignette of darker furnishings, including a vintage credenza that doubles as an entertainment center, equipped with a Sonos Playbar.

This brass credenza ($7,600) is one of the collective's first pieces. The warm metal has seen a surge in popularity, especially this year as designers experimented with ways to make modern design feel fresh. "We looked at a lot of modernism and a lot of postmodernism during our education. Our teachers armed us with the ability to design clean, simple, functional objects and we still intend to do so; however, like previous generations of designers, we are beginning to find our own voice for our own time," says Ellis.

The Elko series of credenzas features an unexpected material and color. “I am really excited about the possibilities that computer navigated laser cutters have opened up for furniture design," Eastvold says. "The Elko base is cut from a piece of sheet steel by a laser, and is an efficient and affordable way to freshen up the classic shapes. We are also using powder coating to get the colors, and it gives a durable and bright finish to the steel, which seemed like a sleek and modern change to make to these pieces.” The credenza bases are available in both saturated and neutral colors, and in small and large sizes.

Lin specified the String shelving across the walnut panel wall and had it surround a restored Paul McCobb credenza that the couple found at a garage sale twenty years ago. “Almost everything in our apartment has a story,” says Kitty.
